As part of continual push for cost reductions on high volume injection moulding The Protool Plastics Group has invested in automated packing lines in our Manchester facility.
This approach significantly reduces the overall labour content in production injection moulding with considerable cost savings for the customer.
To run automated packing lines you must be confident of your process and The Protool Plastics Group uses statistical process control software to monitor critical dimensions during production.
Alongside latest technology process parameters that are monitored by the Krauss Maffei injection moulding machine the quality engineer measures critical component dimensions throughout the production run.
The data is formulated in SPC software, which not only plots sizes ensuring the critical to quality dimensions are correct it also predicts trends which can give advance warnings of process problems.
