Meghan explains below:-

“In the spirit of New Years Resolutions I decided to start pushing myself out of my comfort zone and this most certainly is doing just that! I will be running a half marathon in July in support of Alzheimer’s Society.

In the UK alone from 2005/06 to 2016/17, the number of people on the dementia register rose from 213,000 to 458,461, an increase of 115%. Research is key to help those affected as not everyone with dementia actually receives a diagnosis. This can be due to a number of factors including difficulty diagnosing in the early stages, the slow progression and limited public awareness of the diseases that cause dementia. Let’s raise awareness!

I am running for those affected, the families caring for loved ones and to the qualified care givers. I greatly appreciate all your help, and I will make sure I post updates of how the training is going.”
